*NEW CATEGORY*

Best Limited Series:
Krzysztof Kieslowski, Krzysztof Piesiewicz, and Ryszard Chutkowski, The Dekalog

dekalog4-780x450.jpg
  • the Best Limited Series category was created due to the rise in prestige auteur-driven serial narratives; the first year being 2000 because that’s when Krzysztof Kieslowski’s masterful series of films, The Dekalog, first became available in the United States via home video. In most instances, this award is only eligible in this category in its own distinctive arena, unless, like The Dekalog or Small Axe, they are a series of films that don’t continue a serial (episodic) narrative throughout the runtime. In those cases, in addition to being eligible here, the singular films are also available to be recognized for individual films (see A Short Film About Killing, Lovers Rock, etc.). If the work is part of a serial, the achievement will stand to be recognized here. Awards are given to the creator (often the writer or director of the entire work), the director(s)/writer(s) of multiple parts of the anthology, and the main producer(s) of each entry.
